Just because you may be able to file an eviction notice doesn't mean you are that much closer to collecting your money. The courts are so far behind, you may not get a hearing until early 2022.

Evictions have resumed in Illinois, and while some tenants are still protected others are now getting notices.

This applies to some Chicago areas only. There is not enough parking now. It will be worse when homeowners start adding units in the basement, attic and garages. And don't worry, the Real Estate taxes will be adjusted accordingly to the extra rental units. Of course the city has to be making some money off this or it would not happen.

Some areas in the suburban Chicagoland area are rising faster than the National average. As supply is deleted the remaining properties are seeing multiple offers and in most cases selling over asking price. My best guess is that there are about 10 buyers for every house looking. If a home is priced right, in good to great condition, and in a desirable area, buyers are jumping all over it. Realtors are working sun-up to sun-down just trying to get offers accepted for their clients. Some clients have decided to wait until after new year to start looking again and waiting for the dust to settle. Right now it is deffinately a seller's market.

Housing prices continued to grow in June, maintaining a streak in monthly increases that began in February 2012. But the trend could be reversed in 2021 with the resurgent effects of the coronavirus, according to CoreLogic.

Here is some good info on the effects of the Covid-19 related to housing problems in certain states. Illinois being one that is already having big problems with Pension debt and rising taxes to cover debt. Illinois is sinking further and further into debt and affecting housing in all facets. It just keeps getting worse. And this does not even touch on Foreclosures that will be popping up by the end of this year and early next year as a result of all the unemployed persons because of the Covid-19 shut down of the economy, local businesses and person income disappearing.

The S&P CoreLogic Case-Shiller home price index hasn't yet reflected the impact of the coronavirus, but an independent market maker has some thoughts on how it might.
