Winter Storm Fern is expected to introduce herself to the Sumter area tonight and in the morning, bringing extremely cold conditions and freezing rain.

EXPECT
- Slick roads and surfaces
- Possible power outages
- Falling limbs and downed power lines (depending on ice amounts)

WHAT TO DO
- Avoid driving; Stay home until road conditions improve.
- Keep your mobile phones and devices charged.
- Keep flashlights and battery powered lighting handy.
- If you experience a power outage, notify your utility provider. Calls to 9-1-1 should be limited to emergencies.
