Kicking off football season Wooddale style! Our employees had a great time celebrating the start of football season with a fun filled employee tailgate party. We enjoyed snacks, lots of laughs and plenty of team spirit. A big thank you to our amazing Wooddale team for bringing the fun and showing off their favorite team colors.

During World War II thousands of Japanese Americans were forcibly removed from their homes and placed in detention camps across the United States. Following the attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941 fear and prejudice towards people of Japanese ancestry increased dramatically. On February 19, 1942 President Franklin D Roosevelt sign executive order 9066 which authorized the military to remove people from designated areas along the West Coast. More than 120,000 Japanese Americans most of them. US citizens were eventually incarcerated. Families were given very little time to prepare. Many were forced to leave behind their homes, businesses, farms and personal belongings .They were transported to temporary assembly centers and then moved to permanent incarceration camps, often located in a remote and harsh environments. We would like to thank our resident Mae Nakamura for sharing the experience of her family during this time. Mae was in camp from the ages of 7 to 11 years of age.
