When your government tells you “we’re all in the same boat.”

Some days we see flaws first. We hear tone instead of need. We speak too fast and regret it later.

Audrey Hepburn left us a better way:

“For beautiful eyes, look for the good in others; for beautiful lips, speak only words of kindness.” — Audrey Hepburn

Today, try this:
👀 Look for one good thing in someone you meet.
🗣️ Say one kind sentence that builds instead of bruises.
🤲 Do one small act that helps without needing credit.

Small kindness. Big ripple. Go Give It.

Most people are carrying more than we can see.

A burden.

A worry.

A prayer request.

A private battle.

That’s why kindness matters.

A smile.

A phone call.

A helping hand.

A few encouraging words.

Small acts of kindness often make a bigger difference than we realize.

You may never know what someone is facing.

But you can always choose to be a blessing.

THANK YOU: Kristen Welker and Kaitlan Collins stood up to Trump and refused to back down

Kristen Welker and Kaitlan Collins had a message for Donald Trump this week: we will not be silenced. Two of the most respected journalists in the country went toe to toe with the President of the United States, asked him the questions the American public deserves answers to, and refused to flinch when he came back at them with insults, intimidation, and tantrums.

Collins was first. Inside the Oval Office, she pressed Trump on a $1.8 billion DOJ fund being steered toward his political allies. Trump attacked her before she could finish her sentence, told her to "be quiet," and went after her personally rather than answer the question. Collins kept going anyway. She did not smile on command. She did not sit down. She did her job.

Then Welker sat across from Trump on Meet the Press and asked him something simple: produce the evidence behind your repeated claims that the 2020 election was stolen and that California's primary is being rigged right now. When he had nothing, she said it plainly: "But sir, that's not evidence." Trump called her "crooked," then "crooked or stupid," then stormed off the set entirely, throwing his microphone to the ground and crushing it under his foot on the way out. Welker never raised her voice. She never backed down. She asked the question America needed asked.

These women represent the best of what journalism is supposed to be. They showed up, they did the work, and when a powerful man tried to bully them into silence, they stood their ground with grace and professionalism that Trump could not come close to matching.

He has called female reporters "piggy," "ugly," "nasty," and "obnoxious." He has ordered them to smile, sit down, and be quiet. It has never worked. Collins and Welker proved that again this week, and every woman journalist who comes after them is standing on stronger ground because of it.

Thank you Kaitlan. Thank you Kristen. You made the whole country proud.

Fact check: Elections are not decided only by the people who vote for authoritarian politics; they are also decided by the people who stay home, tune out, or decide that imperfect choices are the same as no choice at all. In close races, nonvoting is not neutral—it can hand power to the very people most committed to taking rights, safeguards, and democratic institutions away.
