As I've grown older, I've come to realize that love doesn't always look the way we expect it to.

Sometimes it's encouragement. Sometimes it's protection. And sometimes it's tough love that shapes us in ways we don't fully understand until years later.

One thing my mom always said was, "He's the one you want on your side when it matters." Over the last few years, I've seen just how true that is.

Life has a way of revealing the strength, loyalty, and commitment of the people who stand beside us when we need them most. For that steady presence and unwavering support, I am deeply grateful.

Before Amazon... before online shopping... there was Town East Mall.

Today, Town East Mall is one of the most recognizable landmarks in Mesquite, but its story is really the story of Mesquite's transformation.

At the time, shopping was a destination.

Families spent entire afternoons at the mall. Teenagers met friends there. Restaurants, department stores, and retailers all gathered under one roof.

In many ways, it helped reshape where people lived, worked, and shopped.
What was once farmland and open space became thriving neighborhoods, businesses, and communities that continue to define Mesquite today.

Every city has landmarks.
But some landmarks do more than mark a location—they tell the story of growth, opportunity, and the people who built the community we know today.
