The Center for Muscle & Joint Therapy, Inc. would like to introduce Teresa Zupancich PTA to our followers.
Teresa is a Physical Therapist Assistant working for The Center for Muscle & Joint Therapy, Inc. for 7 years.
Teresa graduated from Lake Superior College in 2015 with a PTA degree. She also holds a B.S. in Corporate and Community Fitness from North Dakota State University and a Masters in Education in Sports Management from the University of Minnesota Minneapolis.
Teresa has furthered her education by acquiring training in Yoga and Therapeutic Yoga which focuses on pain management through movement and movement re-education.
At The Center for Muscle & Joint Therapy, Inc. she works closely with the Physical Therapists to help patients achieve their goals.
Teresa particularly enjoys teaching patients how their body moves and how it can be affected by stress, injury and mental health.
Outside of work Teresa enjoys hiking, cross country skiing and mountain biking and traveling. She is an avid quilter and does enjoy sewing too.
Teresa is an excellent colleague and our patients benefit greatly when under her care.
The Center for Muscle & Joint Therapy, Inc. is a private practice physical therapy company now in its 33rd year of service.

Wisconsin and Minnesota are direct access states, which means that you do not need a prescription or doctor's referral, in most cases, to be seen by The Center for Muscle & Joint Therapy, Inc., a long standing outpatient physical therapy clinic located in Superior Wisconsin.
We have pay as you go cash options if using your private health insurance is not the best option for you.

Running and Cycling Evaluations

Whether you are a competitive running training for your next race, or simply running for enjoyment and exercise, let us help you analyze your form, and remain pain free during the summer season! Pain during or after running can be caused by muscular weakness, imbalances, or simply improper foot wear, or running form. If you are currently pain free, but plan on starting a large training block, making sure you have good form now will keep you running at your best, without juries later in the year!

Running Analysis: Each running evaluation may include the following:
• Assessment of body metrics including range of motion, flexibility, and strength in key running muscle groups.
• Slow motion capture video of running form.
• Detailed assessment and recommended modifications to your running form.
• Individualized handout of exercises developed from your assessment.
• Recommendations for training plan modifications and progressions as appropriate
• Recommendations for shoe wear and custom orthotics as appropriate

A cycling evaluation can ensure that your body and bike work together when racing, commuting, or cycling for fun! With a fit performed by a certified professional, optimal ergonomics can be achieved to improve cycling efficiency, power, and comfort. Get into your triathlon, gravel, and mountain bike riding season with a bike tuned to the most important cycling accessory, yourself!

Cycling Analysis: Each bike fit evaluation may include the following:
• On-bike evaluation of cycling and pedal stroke mechanics utilizing slow-motion video capture
• Initial cleat evaluation to determine appropriate cleat size and positioning
• Mechanical adjustments to the bike to to improve ergonomic fit.
• Orthotic recommendations
• Parts referral as needed

We would like you to meet our Physical Therapist, Chad Peterson MPT.

Chad was born and raised in Hayward, Wisconsin. He grew up with a great love and appreciation for the outdoors and all that it offered both mentally and physically.
Chad's academic history is impressive. He graduated from The University of Wisconsin, Madison, with a degree in Athletic Training. He also received a Master’s Degree from the University of North Dakota in Health and Physical Education and Recreation. He worked for the University of North Dakota as an Athletic Trainer and a Teacher.

In 1994 Chad moved to Superior, Wisconsin to open and operate a Performance Clinic for training athletes. In 1996 Chad furthered his human performance knowledge by accepting a teaching position at the College of St. Scholastica, teaching in the Athletic Training Department.

Chad was not finished with his need for gain further knowledge in the world of treatment and assessment. He was accepted in the Physical Therapy Program at the College of St. Scholastica, receiving a Master of Science Degree in Physical Therapy in 2000.

Chad has worked in the Twin Ports region for the last 24 years. He joined The Center for Muscle and Joint Therapy in 2017.

Chad's knowledge base in human mechanics and treatment makes him an excellent and skilled evaluator. His friendly demeanor and compassion complete the treatment process.

The patients say that Chad not only helps them restore function but also gain insight to staying healthy in the future.

In physical therapy, the choice is always yours as to where you want to go to Physical Therapy and who you want to see.

The Center for Muscle and Joint Therapy is excited to have a new colleague practicing with us!!
Ann Farley, PT, DPT, CSCS, Serotta Level 2 bike fitter.

Ann graduated from the College of St. Scholastic with a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree in 2018 and a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science in 2014. Ann has a a great interest in sports rehabilitation and strength and conditioning for athletes, particularly runners and cross country skiers.
Clinical treatment includes foot and ankle injuries, lumbar spine and SI injuries, balance issues.
Pre and post orthopedic rehabilitation and much more.
Ann enjoys treating all ages of patients and is dedicated to returning patients to the best functional outcome possible.
Ann has been a high school Nordic ski coach for6 years, an adaptive downhill ski coach for 4 years and an adjunct professor for the College of St. Scholastica Physical Therapy Department.
She holds a unique certificate as a certified bike fitter.
When asked what makes Ann happy it was apparent that her passion for the great outdoors helps her assist patients in returning to activities they love, from gardening to hiking to marathon running. Your goal is her goal!
