If you own property in Onslow County you will receive a letter showing a newly assessed property value. State law requires counties to periodically reassess property values to bring them in line with the market value, which Onslow County does every four years.

Just because your property value has increased does not automatically mean your taxes will go up. The Onslow County Board of Commissioners is in sole control of any adjustment to the tax rate to match the revenues needed to operate the County. This will not happen until budget deliberations are finished and the County Commissioners make decisions about the revenues needed.
