4th of July Fireworks Update!
As we gear up for the 250th Anniversary Independence Day celebration, letโs make sure our festivities are safe and in line with the Town Ordinance on fireworks. Please take a moment to review the rules below so everyone can enjoy a fun and safe holiday!
Town of Surfside Beach Fireworks Ordinance
Section 8-21
Fireworks may only be used, fired, shot, or discharged within town limits from sunset until 11:00 p.m. on July 4th.
During these hours, fireworks may be discharged on the beach, but only in the area between the mean high-water mark and the Atlantic Ocean.
Fireworks are not allowed within 500 feet of the townโs fishing pier.
Section 12.94
4. Fireworks are strictly prohibited from being discharged from the Surfside Beach Pier, except for displays specifically approved by the Town Council and administered by the town or its designee.
Penalties (Section 8-21)
Violations are considered an infraction and carry a fine of $100 to $500, plus any required assessments.
Violations will be issued via ordinance summons.
All violators must appear in municipal court and are subject to its jurisdiction.
Surfside Beach Fire Department does not recommend the discharge of fireworks this year due to the extremely dry conditions.
Letโs keep our celebrations festive, fun, and safe for everyone!
