UPDATE
First, we want to share how grateful we are for this community. While freezing winds and heavy rain move through, weโre working around the clock to make sure every resident is warm, dry, and comfortable, especially our medically fragile ones like GiGi.
Dr. Martin was back out to re-examine GiGi and flush her abscess tract. The good news is that the healing in her mouth and under her chin looks great. The abscess track is clean, and that area is progressing just as we hoped. We are so relieved to see that part improving.
However, GiGi has developed significant edema in her chest and legs. This swelling is serious, and we are moving quickly. Dr. Martin is actively collaborating with her hospital team so we can get answers as soon as possible. We believe this may be a type of cellular collapse response secondary to last weekโs initial emergency, but we need more information to understand exactly whatโs happening internally.
Her inflammation markers have spiked again due to the unexpected edema, and weโve run another CBC and chemistry panel to help guide our next steps. Right now, our focus is keeping GiGi comfortable, closely monitored, and supported while we work diligently to stabilize her and determine the cause.
If you are able to help, donations toward her ongoing diagnostics and hospital collaboration mean more than you know. Cases like GiGiโs require rapid testing, repeat labs, and coordinated care, and we are committed to doing everything possible for her.

To everyone who has lifted her up in prayer, love, and support, thank you. Please continue to hold GiGi close. She feels it. And so do we. ๐
