Hampton Lumber announced the closer of their Banks mill, resulting in the loss of 58 jobs. The state of Oregon plans to reduce their timber harvests in the area by about 35% under a proposed Habitat Conservation Plan (HCP), a significant source of logs for the Banks mill.
