When I first started in real estate with Prudential (a company no longer in the business), my broker’s advice was simple: “Fake it until you make it.” Drive an expensive car, wear designer clothes, carry luxury handbags—project success so people will believe you’re already successful.
I never bought into that idea.
I still see the same message everywhere on social media today. Yet I’ve never followed it. I’ve built a 26-year career on hard work and authenticity, and I’ll keep going on my own terms for as long as I choose.
