BERMUDA (Warm-Season Turf)

Warm-season grasses, like Bermuda, are summer lovers. Bermuda grass goes completely dormant in the winter, but thrives in hot weather. And even though Bermuda grass can tolerate periods of drought, it needs adequate water to look its best.

Best Time to Water: To avoid evaporation and sun-scalding water your Bermuda grass early in the morning (around 6am). This will give the water time to soak deeply into the soil and strengthen the roots for growth.

Check the Weather: To determine how often to water Bermuda grass in Georgia, track rainfall and adjust your watering schedule accordingly. A good rule of thumb is to aim for about 1 inch of water per week, including rainfall. Bermuda grass needs deep and infrequent watering, so focus on soaking the soil rather than frequent light sprinklings. And if there has been significant rainfall, you may not need to water at all.

5 Tips To Help Prevent Frozen Pipes
