It’s not only immoral to place snow into cleared roadways, it is also illegal.

Our community has endured a grueling week working to clear streets and restore safe access for traffic and emergency response. This effort required significant time, coordination, and the generous assistance of neighboring communities. To see that hard work undone by selfish actions is unacceptable.

We understand that businesses must clear their lots in order to open and serve the public. However, this cannot come at the cost of pushing snow onto sidewalks or streets. Shifting the hazard from private property onto public ways endangers everyone and undermines the collective effort to keep our community safe.

We are already aware of several violators who have placed snow into the roadway. After our officers were forced in and worked double shifts to restore our community to some semblance of order following the storm, enforcement will be firm. Violators will be fined into compliance.

Depositing snow onto public roads creates dangerous ice barriers that put drivers, pedestrians, and first responders at risk. These actions will not be tolerated.

Those responsible for obstructing cleared roadways will be identified, held accountable, and fined accordingly. We ask all residents and businesses to respect the shared effort it takes to keep our streets safe and accessible for everyone.
