Facebook memories reminded me that today was a special and important day. Today is the five year anniversary of my relationship with Elm Street Realtors
What?!? It’s only been five years since my first day - the day that this idiot went outside every hour to feed the parking meter 🤦♀️
My initial response was that it HAD to be more than five years. Haven’t I been there at *least* ten or twenty? It’s funny when you find your home…it feels like you’ve always been there.
When I say “home” I mean it. Our little, but mighty, team is a family. No, I take that back. It’s better than that, because there’s literally no dysfunction. We truly support each other, in every sense. We help each other out, we cheer each other on, and we all have each other’s backs. No cliques. No backstabbing. No cut throat competition shenanigans. We take each other’s calls and texts at all hours for help, advice, or simply a listening ear. Nothing but genuine support. I could not be more fortunate than I am now, working with these amazing, hardworking professionals.
In my nearly 20 years as a broker, I have worked for 2.5 other brokerages prior to ESR, and I’ve had two truly wonderful managing brokers. They were great bosses, and I am lucky to still call them both friends. That said, I was never so fortunate to have the professional support and trust that I have from Nancy Almanza Edwards.
She sees in me what I don’t readily show or easily accept because of self doubt and second guessing. She believes in me, and created an environment for me to succeed NOT just for the bottom line. She trusts me with the present in the capacity of training new licensees to conduct themselves with the highest levels of professionalism AND ethics, and she trusts me in the future with continuing (and reshaping) ESR’s legacy. And if you know Nancy, you know that some balls are going to be busted over that.
I’ve significantly stepped back from listing and selling these past few months to work on making our office even better and stronger. It’s been worth it. My professional motto has become, “You don’t need to be the best ON the team. You need to be the best FOR the team.”
So cheers, Elm Street Realtors. Not the company, but the family.
Happy fivethatfeelslikeforever anniversary! Cheers! 🥂
