BREAKING: Former President Joe Biden gives a fiery speech in his first remarks since his cancer therapy, says that we're in "dark and perilous times" but it's "no time to give up" because America always emerges "stronger, wiser and more resilient."

Remember when we had a real president?

"Fundamentally, Ted [Kennedy] believed in the power of our democracy to pull our nation through the worst of moments and folks we can't kid ourselves, we are in one of those moments right now," Biden said while receiving a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Edward M. Kennedy Institute.

"In my over fifty years of elected public life, this is the worst I've seen it. If Ted were here today, he'd still be fighting like hell but his optimism would be surely tested because truth be told, our very democracy is at stake in my view," Biden continued.

"Look, I know it's tempting to check out, to throw up your hands and it feels heartbreaking some days but if Teddy were here today, he'd drawn inspiration from the lessons he and his siblings learned growing up," Biden went on. "The same ones that I learned from my dad. Whenever we faced tough times as a kid, my dad would look at me and say 'Joey get up'."

"'You get knocked down, get up, Joey. Just get up.' That's my message to us tonight," said Biden. "We have to get up. All those who love Teddy and who love our country, all of us who are dismayed by the present state of the Union, there's no time to give up. It's time to get up."

"We must do better in this country. We all agree that our politics is broken, that political violence, never acceptable, is out of hand, that America should be a place not of extremism and fury, but of decency and grace, that our institutions are what makes us the envy of the world, and our democracy is worth fighting like hell for," he went on. "Friends, since its founding, America has served as a beacon for the most powerful idea ever in government in the history of the world."

"As Teddy once said, most of the world still knows what we can be, what only we can be. And they want us to be that nation again. America is the only country in the world founded on an idea," Biden continued. "Not geography, not religion, not ethnicity. A big idea. The idea is stronger than any army, more powerful than any dictator."

"The idea is that we hold these truths to be self-evident that we're all created equal, and deserve to be treated with dignity throughout our lives. While we never fully lived up to that idea, we've never walked away from it either. And after spending over fifty years at the center of it all, I know the idea of America depends on our respect for the institutions that govern and guarantee a free society."

"It depends on a presidency with limited powers. It depends on a functioning Congress. It depends on autonomous judiciary," he continued. "It depends on a free and independent press. Institutions that reflect the timeless words, we hold these truths to be self-evident. And we, the people."

"Whether we show the courage, stand up to the abuse of power, or are we going to yield to it? We face these existential questions again today. We remain in the battle for the soul of our nation, in my view. And that means we, all of us — and I mean all of us — have an enormous responsibility to protect the institutions upon which the fate of our nation rests."

"No one is exempt from responsibility. No one gets a pass on standing up to the bullies and standing firm against the threats. Time and again, throughout history, at moments of great crisis, we Americans have summoned the better angels of our nature and brought our country back from the abyss."

"And, folks, there's some good news. It's happening again right now in America. Right now," said Biden.

"Look across the country and you'll see it. Average Americans showing courage, making exceptional and extraordinary sacrifices to protect our democracy. The federal employee who resigns rather than follow the order that he knows is wrong."

"The university that's fighting back against the threats rather than compromise its academic legitimacy and integrity. The late-night hosts who continue to shine a light on free speech, knowing their careers are on the line. The elected officials who bucked their own party, knowing there will be hell to pay for it."

"The journalists and corporations and advocacy groups, law firms who are doing the right thing, knowing retribution is right around the corner in every state in this nation. The Americans doing what Teddy Kennedy spent his life doing, standing up, standing tall, fighting to make our country live up to its highest ideals. Because they believe in a simple truth that the soul of the nation is worth fighting for."

"Let me close with this. America is not a fairytale. For 250 years, it's been a constant push and pull, an existential struggle between peril and possibility," said Biden. "We're not guaranteeing any happy endings. And maybe, maybe it's that unwavering optimism I learned from my friend Teddy that caused me to say, I believe in the America of our dreams is always closer than we think. That's why the work of Edward M. Kennedy Institute is so important, teaching young people how to fight for, strengthen, and cherish the institutions that make our democracy literally a beacon for the world."

"When I was President, I said the most urgent question facing the country was whether democracy is still America's sacred cause. Sacred cause. I believe the answer is yes."

"I'll never believe the answer could ever be anything other than that. It can never be no. As I began to build my own presidential library, I hope that it too will inspire a love of democracy in future generations."

"Because whatever my legacy may be, I hope it will be said of me, what is true of Teddy, that he believed in our democracy, that he knew it was worth fighting for," Biden continued.

"Friends, I can't sugarcoat any of this. These are dark days, but we're one of the only countries in the world that time and again has come out of every crisis we faced stronger than we went into that crisis," he said.

"Every one. And after half a century of watching this, sometimes moved to the brink before finding our true compass again, I still believe, I still believe we'll emerge as we always have. Stronger, wiser, more resilient, more just."

"So long as we keep the faith, remember who in God's name we are. In the words of scripture that the Kennedy family has invoked on other times of great moral crisis, be strong and have good courage. Be not afraid and be not dismayed."

"Folks, it's time to get back up. It's time to get reengaged. It's time to act, to fight like hell, to fight like Teddy would fight. That's what we owe Teddy. That's what we owe each other. That's what makes us. "Look, that's what we owe our kids and this country. So it's time to get back up."

"Above all else, get back up! Get up, America. Get up, get up, get up now! Thank you. God bless you and may God protect the United States of America," the former president concluded.

This is what real leadership sounds like. This is what morality and decency and dignity sound like. Donald Trump on his best day could never hope to deliver a speech half as coherent, thoughtful, and moving as this.

The same media that obsessed over Biden's cognition is now criminally uninterested in the fact that Trump took a dementia test and had an MRI scan. The hypocrisy is scalding but we soldier on.

Get up America!

BREAKING: Pope Leo XIV throws MAGA world into a Sunday rage by urging every Catholic in the world to help and care for immigrants just days after slamming Donald Trump's cruel policies.

This pope REALLY doesn't care about ruffling right-wing feathers...

Leo called on Catholics to "open our arms and hearts to them, welcoming them as brothers and sisters, and being for them a presence of consolation and hope."

The remarks were delivered to a crowd of thousands who were inside St. Peter's Square at the Vatican for Sunday Mass. It was part of event organized for migrants which attracted some 10,000 pilgrims from 95 countries. The Church’s message on immigration is clearly resounding around the world.

The pope stated that migrants cannot be treated with "the coldness of indifference or the stigma of discrimination."

Leo went on to call for "a new missionary age" in which the church will offer "hospitality and welcome, compassion and solidarity" to all of those migrants who are fleeing from violence or searching for a safe new home for themselves or the families.

"In the communities of ancient Christian tradition, such as those of the West, the presence of many brothers and sisters from the world's South should be welcomed as an opportunity, through an exchange that renews the face of the Church," he said.

While he didn’t mention the United States or Donald Trump specifically, taken in the context of his past remarks it’s clear who and what he was pushing back against today. Last week, he enraged MAGA supporters by espousing the true teachings of Jesus Christ.

“Someone who says, ‘I’m against abortion,’ but says ‘I’m in favor of the death penalty,’ is not really pro-life,” the pope told reporters. “Someone who says that, ‘I’m against abortion but I’m in agreement with the inhuman treatment of immigrants who are in the United States,’ I don’t know if that’s pro-life."

Republicans have quickly come to despise Pope Leo because he dispels the lie that they tell themselves: They are not “Christian” in any meaningful sense of the word. They have draped themselves in Christian aesthetics and signifiers while adopting a cruel, fascist worldview that is antithetical to the love, compassion, and selflessness taught by Christ. Pope Leo sees right through them.

BREAKING: Jimmy Fallon charges into battle against Donald Trump over the shocking Jimmy Kimmel firing and unleashes a hilarious takedown that's enraging MAGA world.

If they thought that he'd cower in fear, they were dead wrong...

"Well guys, the big story is that Jimmy Kimmel was suspended at ABC after pressure by the FCC leaving everyone saying WTF?" said Fallon. "What's going on?"

"This morning, I woke to a hundred text messages from my dad saying 'I'm sorry they canceled your show,' and I go 'That's not me! That's Jimmy Kimmel!'" joked Fallon.

"But to be honest with you all, I don't know what's going on and no one does," he continued. "But I do know Jimmy Kimmel, and he’s a decent, funny and loving guy, and I hope he comes back."

"Yeah, a lot of people are worried that we won’t keep saying what we want to say, or that we’ll be censored, but I’m going to cover the president’s trip to the UK, just like I normally would," said Fallon.

"Well guys, President Trump just wrapped up his three day trip to the UK, and he—" said Fallon, at which point a dubbed voiceover censored him to say "—looked incredibly handsome."

"As always, his tie was—" said Fallon, with the voiceover adding "—exactly the right length."

"And his face looked—" said Fallon. "—like a color that exists in nature," stated the voiceover.

"And his hair looked—" said Fallon. "—better than Conrad's from 'The Summer I Turned Pretty,' said the voiceover.

"During the trip, protestors managed to project images onto the sides of Windsor Castle of Trump sitting next to his good friend Jeff—"

"Goldblum," stated the voiceover, censoring the name Epstein.

"Even though his administration still insists the he's not in the—" continued Fallon.

"—Goldblum—" interjected the voiceover.

"—files," said Fallon. "Which we all know is absolute bull—"
"—true," said the voiceover.

"Anyway to sum it up, President Trump is—" said Fallon.

"Making America Great Again by restoring our national reputation, reinvigorating our economy, and rebuilding our military. I hereby nominate him for the Nobel Peace Price," stated the voiceover.

"And you can quote me on that!" joked Fallon.

This refusal to back down from his Trump mockery is a sign of real bravery on the part of Fallon, because he's next in the MAGA crosshairs. In a Truth Social post celebrating the Kimmel firing, Trump said that "Jimmy and Seth" are left and urged NBC to terminate them. This so-called president won't be satisfied until free speech is totally dismantled and all of his critics are silenced.

BREAKING: Former President Barack Obama incinerates Donald Trump over his disgusting response to the Charlie Kirk murder — reminding us all exactly what a real leader sounds like.

America was a much better place when this man was president...

"When I hear not just our current president, but his aides, who have a history of calling political opponents ‘vermin,’ enemies who need to be ‘targeted,’ that speaks to a broader problem that we have right now, and something that we’re going to have to grapple with—all of us,” Obama said at a Jefferson Educational Society event.

While stating that Kirk's killing was "horrific and a tragedy," Obama also said that he disagreed with the right-wing demagogue's beliefs. In the wake of the murder, Republicans have been clamoring to get their fellow Americans fired for not praising Kirk enough or for simply repeating verbatim any of the countless hateful things that he said.

"Whether we’re Democrats, Republicans, independents, we have to recognize that on both sides, undoubtedly, there are people who are extremists and who say things that are contrary to what I believe are America’s core values,” Obama stated.

He went on to say that he as well as previous Republican presidents believed in working to unite the country, a sharp contrast to Trump who seeks to constantly divide for political gain.

“I think George W. Bush believed that. I believe that people who I ran against—I know John McCain believed it," said Obama. "I know Mitt Romney believed it. What I’m describing is not a Democratic value or Republican value. It is an American value. And I think at moments like this, when tensions are high, then part of the job of the president is to pull people together.”

In the wake of Kirk's death, Trump rushed to blame the "radical left" before a suspect was even in custody. He had his preferred narrative set immediately and refused to acknowledge any details that might disrupt that narrative. Rather than extinguish the raging partisan fires, he poured gasoline on the problem. The reason why is no mystery. Donald Trump is deeply unpopular with most Americans and knows that he has little chance of ever uniting us all behind his racist, fascist, kleptocratic agenda. By ensuring that we're divided, he keeps his base energized and loyal. It's the only thing propping him up politically at this point.

Drawing on his own time in office, Obama discussed how he avoided inflaming the country along partisan lines after white supremacist Dylan Roof carried out a mass shooting inside a Black church in 2015.

“As president of the United States, my response was not: Who may have influenced this troubled young man to engage in that kind of violence? And now let me go after my political opponents and use that,” said Obama.

Now, more than ever we need clear-eyed, patriotic leadership like the kind that Obama displayed during his time in office. Instead, we're stuck with an incompetent, cognitively declining fascist who is likely a pe*****le. We have fallen so far.

Please retweet and ❤️ if you miss Obama's leadership!
