AUGUST RECAP 🔥

What a HOT month… and not just the weather. We were on fire over here LOL.

5 new listings
17 under contract
11 SOLD

Those numbers are pretty dang exciting, but behind every single one is a story.

Someone finally got their mountain cabin. Someone went from buying their starter home single to now being married and needing room for a family. One family decided it was time to say goodbye to their mountain chapter and get closer to the grandkids. We helped someone relocate here, another seller moved back into her old home place, and another realized they had simply aged out of making that drive back and forth from Florida.

That’s real estate. There’s usually a whole lot of LIFE wrapped up in buying or selling a house, and somehow we get invited into the middle of it.

August also gave us lots of opportunities to do what we love outside of selling houses.

We wrapped up our 3rd Annual Back to School Teacher Giveaway with more than $2,500 in gift cards going back to our Jackson County teachers. We participated in the annual Jackson County Chamber Golf Tournament and got to support AWAKE Children’s Advocacy Center at their annual fundraiser.

We say it all the time, but we really do LOVE this community. Getting to partner with other local businesses, support organizations doing good work and give back to the people who make this place what it is will always be a big part of who we are.

And our own little crew had some pretty big life happening too. We welcomed our new Director of Listings AND our Courtney got hitched 😘

And now September…

We’ve been keeping a little secret and Y’ALL. We are finally getting close to being able to share it.

It started as a little idea and somehow has turned into something that feels so much bigger than we originally imagined.

More on that VERY soon.

For now, we’re just going to keep selling some houses, loving on our people, showing up for this community and finding more ways to Be the Good right here in our little corner of Western North Carolina.

It’s small, but we have a feeling it might become something pretty special.

A little space in downtown Sylva that we’ve been dreaming about, talking about and slowly bringing to life.

It’ll be home to our real estate office, but if you know us, you probably already know we have a few more ideas up our sleeves.

The last golden weekends of summer are slipping away, so here’s what we’re squeezing in before the evenings get cooler and the leaves start to turn:

📍 Spend an afternoon at Darnell Farms for fresh produce, a DreamWhip and some time by the river. 🍑

📍 Catch Concerts on the Creek in Sylva for a Friday night of live music at Bridge Park. There are still a few september dates left to enjoy!

📍 Take an evening walk along the greenway and enjoy the cooler air and golden light before the seasons begin to change.

The youngest on our team, but definitely the oldest soul of the bunch. She’s strong-willed, a little fiery, would probably rather be home with her chickens, and is absolutely killing it in real estate.

Courtney is one of those people you meet and instantly love. She’s genuine, hardworking, loyal, and brings so much heart to our team.

💙 It’s a thankful kind of Tuesday.

Our 3rd Annual Jackson County Teacher Giveaway had more than 220 responses this year, and today we got to do one of our favorite parts visit a few of our local schools and surprise some of our winners in person. 🍎

And y’all… this is why we do it.

This year, 42 Jackson County teachers received a little surprise to help kick off the school year. Getting to walk into the schools, see some of these teachers face-to-face and hand them their gift cards made it that much more special.

Because the heart behind this has always been bigger than a giveaway.

We want our teachers to know that this community sees them and appreciates them. They give so much to our kids… their time, their energy, their own money, and countless things most of us will never see.

We also couldn’t do this alone. A huge thank you to Mortgages by Matthew and Scott Stanberry & Kevin Stanberry with Stanberry Insurance for jumping in with us and helping make this year possible again. We love finding ways to partner with other local businesses that care about this community, because when we work together, we can do so much more.

And we’re already talking about Year 4. 👀
