Barnet Mills - Rensselaer, New York

We are excited to celebrate our next historic rehabilitation! In partnership with BBL Construction, Brian Hart, Mark Teliska and Russell Hilton, we will transform this historic mill along the shores of the Hudson River into a mixed-use facility providing needed housing to the Capital Region and bringing new commercial opportunities to the Rensselaer waterfront.

We thank our partners NBT Bank, Berkshire Bank, the City of Rensselaer and Empire State Development for helping make this project a reality.

Very excited to be developing a new home for Syracuse's Finest and Syracuse's Bravest!

A great team consisting of the SPD, the SFD, the Mayor's Office, the Common Council, Hueber-Breuer Construction, Lahinch Group, Morrisroe Lynn Development and Macknight Architects.

The new home for the departments is in the historic Lipe-Rollway Building. Designed by the local architecture firm Gaggin & Gaggin, the Lipe-Rollway Company was part of the industrial transformation of Syracuse after the decline of the salt industry. Lipe's workshop was "the cradle of Syracuse industry, beginning as an investor's workshop, as well as an industrial incubator."

Today, this monument to Syracuse's industrial past will have a new purpose and role in transforming our city and providing our finest and our bravest with facilities deserving of their dedication.

The Syracuse Common Council authorized a lease agreement with a private developer who will convert an empty factory on the city's west side into new public safety headquarters.
