Mortgage rates just hit their lowest point in nearly four years, dipping under 6 percent for a day and giving buyers a bit more breathing room. Freddie Mac’s latest weekly survey shows the average 30-year fixed rate still hovering around 6.0 – 6.01 percent, the lowest since fall 2022.
More recent comparison --> That’s about a full percent lower than this time last year. So yes, hopefully by now you've gotten over missing the covid-era numbers, because SINCE then this is about as low as it has been, and could meaningfully improve affordability for people looking to buy or refinance this spring.
