Yes. It’s true. If you are an American who has worked hard for good credit, you are likely to pay more on your home loan now than you would have before this revision.

Generally speaking… this new rule is really just bad for everyone and there’s not much to discuss here.

PCS season is a love/hate sort of thing for me. It’s terrible when you are PCSing to another place and having to pack up and move…but it’s also an awesome time to get more stuff for a great deal! (And then stress about moving all extra stuff you’ve acquired the next time you PCS) 😅

To all my California friends…It’s time to move and not pay $1 million for 800sqft.

Washington is the next best thing to CA. Ever wanted one of those beautiful craftsman homes in Burlingame or Hillsborough but can’t afford it? or maybe you just wanted a regular house for a “reasonable” price.

We have Seattle… which is like SF but not but close enough. We have Tacoma which is like the next Burlingame/San Mateo. We have Bellevue which is like Hillsborough but way better.

Just saying. I would love to have a debate of which is better WA or CA! Call me or text me. 😉

The time is now my fellow military families! Don’t let this opportunity get away. Invest in that property at your duty station and when you PCS either sell and get all that BAH back in your pockets or keep the property to rent. Either way it’s a win win!

Your first home doesn’t have to be your last. Buy the least expensive home in the best neighborhood you can afford. When you are ready, you’ll be able to sell that one and get a different house!
