On-post vs off-post is a family call, not a zip ranking.

On-post: apply through Lewis-McChord Communities and expect a wait — timing, not a pitch. Off-post: start at HSO, then look at commute, pets, and what the lease actually says.

PCS’ing to JBLM? Start with the official Housing Services Office, not a Facebook listing.

They run the housing in-processing brief and have a welcome packet. Email them with “Request Welcome Packet” in the subject:

Watch rental scams. If a deal is only on Marketplace and they want a deposit before you’ve seen the place, pause.

The Housing Services Office supports JBLM service members and their families with off-base housing relocation, to include the Rental Partnership Program.
