Closing Day! When the funds are released, the deed(s) recorded, and the keys 🔑 are transferred! It is time for buyers & sellers to celebrate! 🎉

Putting together this little gift basket got me thinking, what would you miss about moving from Tacoma? What would you want in your gift basket?

When I left NYC over 10 yrs ago, it was still a bit difficult to get seltzer. And the pizza 🍕 and bagels were not as easy to come by. But, then coffee here was soo much better! ☕️ So all was forgiven 😉.

There are so many things we can’t take with us when we move and we probably all miss our friends and family most, but in terms of silly stuff, is there anything you would want?

Feeling grateful to work out of this beautiful office with some seriously amazing people!

In this Wednesday’s meeting we discussed how to describe what differentiates us because goodness knows there is plenty of competition in real estate! One of the big words that came up was experience. And you might think, but Liz, you are still somewhat new to this, no? Well yes, I am! But with a new-ish agent like me, you work with someone who is excited to do a great job just for you, along with the supervision, coaching, advising and mentorship of the very best in the business.

Without that background and experience, this job would be nearly impossible.

Our office has some major warehouses of real estate knowledge including Derek , .smith1800 & who know the business inside out. Learning from them is exciting because they are simply so professional, skillful and such great teachers. I want to say they each have 30+ years of experience - and still love what they do!

We also work closely with & on the lending side - they are in the very same building and come to our weekly meetings so we stay attuned to exactly what is happening in the mortgage world. 💸

Then there are the excellent brokers who have already made a great reputation for themselves. Tomio .blakey, though still new-ish, has closed dozens of transactions in just over a year and is already a tremendously knowledgeable. I am lucky to know him well and very grateful for his help. 🙏

Erika was the very first recruit and you know you are in good hands if you are working with her. 🥇she is obviously super competent and will make your house look beautiful!

Jonathan understands all the different products available from using new technology to marketing to financial products, and will help you use them to your advantage.

Ian .franzel is also a real estate lawyer with 10 years experience! So no transaction he can’t handle.

Amanda is a graphic design and marketing expert and helps make us all look good through great social media & marketing materials.

Thank you to Jessica Johnston for hosting the brokers open today. Jess toured us around one of the most amazing buildings in Tacoma - the historic downtown post office building. The gorgeous hardwoods, marble, humongous windows, high ceilings, original safes, the history, the courtrooms - they sure don’t make ‘em like they used to!

So many creative businesses have set up shop including pictured above. You can see the full directory online including tattoo artists, hair dressers, massage therapists, restaurants, consulting companies and of course one of the best known wedding venues in Tacoma.

Way to go Jess! And thank you for the lovely event today and for sharing your knowledge of this historic building with us.

Have you watched the Netflix show, “Selling Sunset”? I asked my managing broker knowing it would be painful to anyone who had worked in real estate for a long time. I heard him say no, he couldn’t bring himself to, and “What do they actually do for their clients?” If you haven’t watched it, the show makes real estate look like one glamorous party after another and many of the brokers are former models or soap opera stars. Needless to say, that is not how it goes in real life.

Here are some shots from my husband and our clients repainting their garage. We also helped them connect with wonderful contractors, helped tape, paint, purchased and installed new house numbers, paid for staging, professional photos and helped them decide which projects to tackle themselves and which to leave be.

And that was before the house went on the market.

Their home went pending in 5 days, more than 10% over asking.

Best of all, it was fun! (Many, many thank you’s to come!) And I can’t wait to do it again.

So, if you need help selling your house, it is still a great time and I would love to help you get where you want to go.
