If you're an introvert and the idea of speaking on stage sounds like your personal nightmare — Ashley Harwood has done it at Inman, in front of hundreds of people.

And her secret isn't what you'd expect.

"The best advice I have is writing your own content, because when you're delivering a message that is very impactful and comes from your heart, it's so easy."

Because when you’re speaking to something you genuinely believe, it flows.

That's true for stage presence, but it's also true for lead generation. Ashley doesn't try to work every room — she walks into a networking event, identifies the handful of people she naturally connects with, and goes all in on those relationships. Fewer people, deeper quality.

The through-line in everything Ashley teaches is this: you don't have to change who you are to succeed. You just have to build a business that's actually designed around who you are.

Are you trying to fit someone else's system — or building one that fits you?

The world doesn't need more noise. It needs leaders who know exactly what their people need and are brave enough to deliver it differently.

Ashley Harwood put it this way: "I'm not gonna be the right leader for a good chunk of the population. I'm too calm. But for this chunk of people, that's what they want. That's what they need."

Her partner watched her speak at a conference and gave her loving feedback: be more high energy, move around more, be louder. And her response was honest and grounded — the people in that room are getting that in every other session. What they need is something different.

That's quiet leadership. Knowing your audience well enough to resist the pressure to perform for everyone and staying true to your style because it's exactly what your specific people are looking for.

Here's what I know: leadership isn't one-size-fits-all.

Some of the most effective leaders I work with aren't the loudest ones in the room, they're the ones who've stopped trying to be.

What kind of leader do you naturally show up as and are you leaning into it or fighting it?

The word she used was peace 😌

Not double your income. Not crush your competition. PEACE.

Because that's what's actually missing for most high-achieving agents — not strategy, not leads, not another tool. It's the feeling that your business is working *with* you instead of swallowing you whole.

Kellie Leach built a 95% referral business in a market most people have never heard of. And when I asked her what finally made the difference, she didn't talk about scripts or social media. She talked about getting organized, getting her systems in place, and doing the unsexy work that creates breathing room on the other side.

It takes time, she said it herself. But the agents and entrepreneurs who invest in that foundation are the ones who are still standing (and thriving!) when everyone else burns out.

Is "peace in your business" something you're actively working toward, or does it feel like a someday goal right now?

Kellie’s business is 95% referral. Let that number sink in.

This is what happens when someone decides their name means something and they protect it at every step of every transaction – rather than trying every shiny new marketing tactic.

Kellie Leach spent 27 years in law before she ever picked up a real estate contract.

She came in with zero tolerance for cutting corners and that legal background became her superpower. She is someone who will look you in the eye and tell you the truth even when it costs her the deal.

Her business isn't built on volume. It's built on people calling her back, sending their friends, and trusting her with the biggest financial decision of their lives all because she has earned that trust over and over again.

That's the business I want to help you build.

What does your referral rate look like right now — and what do you think is in the way?

Brooks Friedland sold zero homes his first year.

It took two years to close his first deal.

And he still says, "I fail probably more than anybody I know."

But here's his definition of failure: it's not falling down. It's *staying* down.

It took him 13 years to graduate college.
He kept going anyway.

He applies that same mindset to his business now as a real estate agent.

It might have taken him two years to close his first deal, but now he’s averaging 50 transitions per year.

He replaced burnout with enjoyment by getting clear on where he wanted to go and what he wanted his life to look like.

What's something that took you way longer than you expected, but you kept going anyway?

Share your story below. 👇

Brooks was selling 2 homes a year.

His wife gave him 6 months to figure it out or find something else.

That ultimatum changed everything.

He spent the first 3 months just watching other agents.

The ones burning out.
The ones doing nothing.
And the ones who had actual systems.

That's when he hired a coach and everything shifted.

Today he's closing nearly 50 transactions a year, and his marriage is stronger than ever.

Sometimes the wake-up call you need doesn't feel like an opportunity.
It feels like a deadline.

What's the moment that forced you to finally make a change in your business?

"They're only a past client because you left them in the past."

Jeff Jackel said this and it… brought up some feelings.

Five years after closing, only 12% of people remember the name of the agent who helped them buy their house. Not because the agent did a bad job but because the agent moved on and never looked back.

The people who have done business with you are not past clients, they are your clients.

They are your most powerful growth engine.

And the ones who are being genuinely cared for? They are 10x less likely to ever do a transaction with someone else.

This is the shift that changed everything in my business — and it has nothing to do with scripts, lead gen, or marketing budgets.

It has everything to do with showing up for people like a human being, consistently, over time.

Your referral network doesn't just happen. It gets built one thoughtful touch at a time.

"All you did was change the moment within which you were thoughtful."

This quote from Jeff Jackel is exactly why I stopped feeling guilty about automating my client follow-up.

Jeff Jackel, co-founder of Client Giant, breaks down why setting up a home anniversary touch the day you close a transaction takes absolutely nothing away from the impact it has on your client 12 months later.

The thoughtfulness happened when you made the decision.

And here's the reframe that I want every high-achieving entrepreneur to sit with: the most thoughtful thing you can do is be realistic about your life.

You might forget.
You might be traveling.
You might be in a completely different season of your business.

So you make the decision today — and you let the system honor it for you.

That's not cutting corners, it’s building a business that actually works.
