May 26, 2026 Third Week This Year Of High Sever Humidity With High Enough Temps ,
Over The 150 Rule
Watch new fescue turf installs very close & always good practice to ask your turf treatment professional for a fungicide treatment if your fescue has yellow or brown spots , most likely under stress from fungus .
Our mature fescue installs Hydroseeded last year are more resistant than the new installs till turf maturity..
Fescue turf is the most susceptible to fungus vs other warm season turf .
We keep cases of our favorite blend of fungicides and stay ready to apply if needed .
Notes :
🌱*when air temps are below 80’s keep your fescue 2.5”-3” to help it air out and prevent fungus as well as managing your water . Use frequent mowing to obtain turf lower than 3.5”. In the spring it’s a challenge & this is why fescue gets fungus majority of the time .
When are temps stay high 80’s to 90’s then move to a 3.5” to 4” turf cut . But let the high temps get there with dryer air .
🌱*dull blades rip grass and invite leaf spot fungus
🌱*leaving wet grass under mower deck is the worst cause of fungus . Fungus develops under mower & then gets spread on turf . 50% water 50% bleach in spray bottle & spray under mower deck will eliminate that as well .
Another Note :
🌾Fungicides primarily target fungi, but many can cause unintended collateral damage to beneficial soil bacteria. While they are designed to kill pathogenic fungi, repeated or heavy applications often alter the balance of the soil microbiome, harming both good fungi (like mycorrhizae) and non-target, beneficial bacteria.
⛳️In contrary we keep BIO STEMS in stock “Next Industries Green Environmental Friendly Products “ to replenish good soil bacteria to help nitrogen cycle if you need that treatment application.
Thank you
