In case you wondered, this market is still very competitive. Multiple offers on this home listed for $280K. So happy my buyer was able to make this house her new home in Tallahassee. Thanks to Caitlin Yancey Moore for getting this loan done quickly and efficiently.

Even when it appears easy, there is so much that goes into getting a deal to the closing table. Just when you think everything is going smoothly with a mail away closing, Fedex fails to get the loan documents in our hands on a Friday before a holiday weekend. Hats off to Casie Jimenez-Moran and her sellers for agreeing to a plan that allowed my buyer to arrive from Texas and move straight into her house rather than a hotel for 4 nights.

It is an honor to have been chosen by the Tallahassee Board of Realtors Scholarship Committee to receive the $400 Linda Dix Scholarship this year. I turned in my application at the end of February with no expectation of winning.

The intent of the Linda Dix Designation scholarship is to assist REALTOR® members of the Tallahassee Board of REALTORS® (TBR) with professional development opportunities and to signify REALTOR® achievement in educational growth.

I have been working on achieving my GRI (Graduate, Realtor Institute) designation this year and can now apply my scholarship to the cost.

Earning the Graduate, REALTOR® Institute (GRI) designation is a way to stand out to prospective home buyers and sellers as a REALTOR® who has gained in-depth knowledge on technical subjects as well as the fundamentals of real estate.

It is my hope that all my customers would feel the same way as the Ward's. Real estate transactions, more often than not, have some kind of roadblock you will have to get past in order to get to the closing table. This one was no exception. In the end the buyer got what he wanted and is happy to start building his dream home.

I am one step closer to my Graduate Realtor Institute designation. This rigorous educational series consists of 7 courses teaching in-depth skills in several areas of real estate, often more than I learned when I received my original license.

On the menu for this module are Appraisals, 1031 Exchanges and Property Management. After today, I'll have 3 more classes to go and then will be able to add "GRI" after my name.
