We have heard, and also believed, that photographers stalk
The pecan groves tither and yon again.

/Shakespeare off

(Yes, we admit that we had first learned of the real quote from an excellent British detective show, "Shakespeare & Hathaway". Don't judge us!) πŸ˜…

There are four pictures in this series, called "Golden Groves" due to that color in the trees and in the frames themselves. When we were asked for pictures of pecan groves, the trees were spindly and bare; perfect for a gothic or dark romantic feel, but that was not what the requester wanted! When the time was fulfilled, we went out and discovered both a wild grove near Colquitt (had someone planted it and then abandoned it?) and a pecan farm just outside of Boston, GA. Many pictures were taken, but only the best of the best didst we keep.

Each of these are 5"x7" in golden metal frames, with glass, signed and numbered, with a certificate of authenticity on the back.

New Row Mk II -- $40 -- The sun beneath a cloud provides a stark contrast with the trees; this speaks of triumph and the price of it.
Like a Garland -- $40 -- This has a feeling of stilled time, with the vine like a garland around the tree; it whispers of timeless beauty beyond physicality, found even in small moments.
Hosanna -- $40 -- The trees with their branches like trumpets welcome someone greater than themselves.
V -- $40 -- A wild pecan tree yet radiates order, spreading its gnarld arms heavenward, like a signpost.

Did you see the postcards? We also have postcards of each print for $2.50, and a collection of all four for $9.

Until next time!

Things have been a whirlwind around here lately -- don't worry! We haven't been hit by that kind of tornado. Anyhow, let's take a look at some of the lovely items within our gazebo, starting with this elegant bud vase.

Here's what we know: it was made by Lennox in the 80's. It's called the Serenade. We don't know the pattern, but it is a chinoiserie piece. The shape is a bud vase, tapered inwards.

Here's what we imagine: a kitchen, somewhere needing a final touch, whether it's farmhouse or a minimalist modern affair. With the farmhouse style, this provides a bit of playful beauty, perhaps a bit of nostalgia, suggesting that someone interesting cooks here. In the minimalist kitchen, this might be a focal point, emphasizing the quirky and human owner as a whimsical counterpoint.

Lenox Chinoiserie Tapered Bud Vase ("Serenade", 1980s) -- $30

Greetings, vintage shoppers! It's been a while since we've done a full-on post, so get ready to inject some of this into your veins. 🀣

Our Thomasville booth has some lovely vingettes, and here's one of them -- a charming oldy-worldy scene just as you step in to the booth. On your right, there. Yes, the miniature chinoiserie lamp (tested, works, obviously) spills its cheery low-watt light over the antique table below, but more on that in a minute. From the lamp, our eyes fall on the crystal frame with the luscious red rose within. Backstory: the print is an original photograph (no AI) of a rose by our front porch. It's called "Rose Bow". Lastly, the blue-and-white plate. That's one of our more affordable pieces, sans backstory, but still looking great with that weathered vibe. Now back to the table. You can't see all of it, but it's a Renaissance cherub beneath a glass top. Where it comes from, we're not sure, but it must have quite a story.

"Rose Bow" (by Michael V. Tulloch, Jr. 4"x6") in crystal frame -- $35
Mini chinoiserie lamp -- $20
Blue-and-white plate -- Turn over the tag and find the surprise πŸ˜…
French Renaissance Style Table With Glass Tray Top -- $350
