Waiting for interest rates to drop before buying? Here’s a little perspective:
2021 — 2.96%
2022 — 5.34%
2023 — 6.81%
2024 — 6.72%
2025 — 6.6%
2026 — around 6.5–6.9%

Those 2–3% rates we remember from 2020–2021 were historically unusual. While you wait for rates to drop, home prices and competition can change—and you’re still paying rent instead of building equity. 📈

One option is to buy the home that works for you now and refinance later if rates improve. New construction may also offer builder incentives, closing-cost assistance, or rate buy-downs that may assist your finaces.
