Observed these stucco cracks and interior water damage during a recent inspection. Cracks in stucco are often overlooked and ignored, but can be a source of water intrusion. If you see cracks in your stucco walls, don’t ignore! Seal them immediately or you might end up with water damage inside your home, and even worse, mold! 🤢

A customer complained of breathing issues and coughing. The first thing I did was inspect inside her air handler. These are the coils; filthy & covered with black & grey fungi looking growth. This needs to be removed and cleaned by a professional AC technician. The ducts should also be cleaned.
I referred her to a licensed mold remediation company for further evaluation and testing.
When was the last time you inspected your air handler?

VOLUSIA COUNTY LAUNCHES VOLUNTEER EFFORT
Volusia County is organizing a community volunteer event to connect residents, businesses, organizations, and churches with local recovery efforts following Hurricane Milton. The event will pair volunteers with residents who need assistance with debris cleanup, tree limb removal, mucking out flooded areas, and other recovery tasks.

Volunteers are asked to arrive by 9 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 19, at the Volusia County Agricultural Center, 3100 E. New York Ave., DeLand. Upon arrival, participants will check in, complete necessary paperwork, receive a safety briefing, and be matched with opportunities based on their skills and the community's needs.

Volunteers are encouraged to bring work gloves and any essential safety or work supplies, as they may go directly to a resident's home following the event. All volunteers must be 18 years of age or older.

Volusia County will provide additional information after the event for those interested in continuing to assist affected residents in the days ahead.

Residents can stay updated by downloading the Volusia Emergency Management app, following the County’s social media channels, or visiting www.volusia.org. Residents can also call the Citizens Information Center at 866-345-0345 until 5 p.m. today for storm-related inquiries.

The Florida Division of Emergency Management has announced that the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Jacksonville District, has opened Operation Blue Roof through Tuesday, Nov. 5. The program is available for impacted residents in multiple counties, including Volusia County.

This program is a free service for homeowners and permanently occupied rental properties, providing fiber-reinforced, industrial-strength sheeting to protect storm-damaged roofs until homeowners can make permanent repairs.

Residents impacted by Hurricane Milton can sign up for this no-cost service by visiting blueroof.gov, calling 888-ROOF-BLU (888-766-3258), or visiting a Right of Entry collection center throughout the affected areas. Collection center locations are listed on blueroof.gov, where residents can sign up for Blue Roof assistance using a Right of Entry form, which gathers information about the residence.
