Welcome to December we made it to the last month of the year it always seems so far until we get here. Anywho, here are some updates going on in Tampa and the surrounding areas
Development a 31-story apartment complex has opened on West Tyler Street in downtown Tampa after more than a decade of development. Dubbed AER, or Arts and Entertainment Residences, the building can be seen in the city’s skyline and offers 334 housing units. (Tampa Bay Business Journal)
A giant gingerbread village is returning to the JW Marriott Clearwater Beach Resort & Spa for its second year. The sugary display is estimated to use 800 pounds of gingerbread + will be themed after W***y Wonka’s chocolate factory. The village will be open for observation — not eating — started on Dec. 3. (FOX 13)
Jimmy’s Tacos is opening up a second spot in TBAY. The popular Ybor City taco joint plans to open a Grand Central district location in August 2025. What’s on the menu? Standout steak tacos, grilled gulf shrimp tacos, and drinks aplenty. (Tampa Bay Business Journal)

Here is some fun news to keep you in the loop about what is going on in the Tampa Bay area 😎
St. Pete City Council members voted not to spend ~$24 million to begin the necessary repairs on Tropicana Field, after initially approving the funding hours earlier. They also voted to delay their vote on bonds for the new Rays stadium to January, following a similar decision by the Commission earlier this week. (Tampa Bay Times)
South Tampa’s Parkland Estates struggles with major flooding. So how will it be addressed? The potential plan — which includes installing box culverts throughout the neighborhood and South Howard Avenue would push the water into Hillsborough Bay. However, some residents and business owners say it would harm trees and local businesses. (Tampa Bay Times)
Coming Soon Surf’s up, TBAY. Peak Surf Park, a new 6,000-acre surf park, is coming to Pasco County’s latest master-planned community, Two Rivers. The park will open in 2027 and feature a surf lagoon, a beach, concert and event venues, restaurants, retail, and more. (That’s So Tampa)
