Never a boring day in real estate.....The feedback came back from a showing saying, the prospective buyer was turned off by the "dead bird" in the condo. Since the condo was closed up and unoccupied, I was surprised to go over there and confirm that there WAS a dead bird in the condo. How it got in?? I have no idea???? What a mess there was !!! They did not talk about the cats, snakes, birds, etc in real estate school!!

Checked out the new Yucatan restaurant in Matlacha with one of my favorite people! (Nancie Lumpkins, she was a client and became my mentor and friend!) What a perfect way to spend an afternoon. It is soo good to see visitors coming back to this beautiful area. They have done a wonderful job of maximizing the setting, and they had loads of staff for start-up. Initially, there were complaints about the parking, but they now have valet parking.

As a realtor, I try to remind my buyers that once they are a homeowner they must remodel, paint, upgrade or update something in the house each year. If not, the house becomes dated and you are overwhelmed at getting it ready to sell when you are ready to move on. Interestingly, I learned this fact from a lady in Australia that I was taking sewing lessons from. I was not good at sewing, but she updated a room in her home each year and instilled this in me.

I have tried to follow this philosophy, and this year the upgrade was my fireplace. See the before and after pictures. A big thank you to Mensur Fidahic for the unbelievable craftsmanship; and to Charles Egita who helped with the choice of material and the style.

Springtime in SW Florida with gardenias and a new baby burrowing owl! This is a new spot on our street for the owls and we have been so excited to see the babies.

Just in the blink of an eye, Reid Alexander Marshall is 11 years old. We celebrated with 20 other boys at a basketball birthday location that turned out to be a huge success, and they were all busy and having fun! Such a special time with a very wonderful grandson! Also got to celebrate Clarence Weaver's birthday. It was much more elegant and reserved!

Walking outside this time of the year, in SW Florida, when you have lemon trees, is the most beautiful smell. Hopefully, the new trees planted after Ian will bear good lemons this year. It looks like the bees are doing their part. All the neighbors are missing the lemon crop from the trees that were destroyed.
