Could Tampa finally be getting a Brickell City styled District? Featuring the proposed Related Towers in Downtown/Grand Central District through Substantial Change - Site Plan Zoning Permits.
The 6 acres of land were destined to be a 1.7gsf mixed-use development titled 'Lafayette Place', in the real estate industry rumors circulated that it was
just a marketing ploy to prompt a sale.
• Rather that be the case or not the sites in the end attracted one of the largest real estate development companies in the U.S. to purchase the land for
$55.5MM. Related Group has said if the City finds the new proposal consistent, they will be set to break ground on the new titled 'Riverfront District' in 2023.
• The new development calls for a first of its kind in Tampa which includes a helistop, 10 boat slips, high street lined with shops, restaurants, and entertainment
venues. A total of 1,110 units will span across the 48- story South Tower (575'), 39-story North Tower, 23-story Tower, and an 8-story building. All of which
consist of condos, apartments, student housing, and nearly 33,000 SF of retail.
