Southwest Florida Water Management District has passed a Modified Phase III "Extreme" Water Shortage due to ongoing dry conditions across our region. Tampa Water Department customers cannot irrigate lawns more than once a week and only on their designated watering day (no change).
📅 Starting April 3, 2026: Additional restrictions apply, including:
• Irrigation is prohibited between 4am and 8pm (shortened hours)
• Handwatering and microirrigation is allowed on any day, but is now prohibited between 8am and 6pm
• No pressure washing for aesthetic purposes. Pressure washing in preparation for painting and sealing is allowed
• The use of decorative fountains is limited to 4 hours per day
Why does this matter? Outdoor watering can account for up to 50% of your home’s water use. Following our outdoor watering rules is essential to protecting our water supply.
