This milestone represents more than the beginning of construction. It represents years of vision, collaboration, persistence, and people coming together around a shared commitment to bringing quality, affordable housing and continued investment to the Nebraska Avenue corridor.

To our neighbors, community leaders, supporters, and everyone who joined us to celebrate, thank you for showing up and being part of this moment.

Today, The Vicente became more than a rendering, a plan, or a conversation about what could be.

We broke ground.

Soon, this site along Nebraska Avenue will become 20 affordable homes and a new chapter for this historic V.M. Ybor property.

To every partner, neighbor, community leader, and supporter who helped us reach this moment, THANK YOU for building with us.

Today, Urban ReWorx officially breaks ground on The Vicente, bringing 20 new affordable homes to Nebraska Avenue in historic V.M. Ybor.

We’ve shared the history of this property, introduced you to the vision, celebrated our partners, and taken you behind the scenes as the site prepared for construction.

Now, it’s time to build.

We’re incredibly grateful for every partner, community member, neighbor, and supporter who has played a role in bringing The Vicente to this moment.

Before we build what’s next, we honor what came before. 🏠

The future home of The Vicente has a story that stretches back more than a century, from the Robles family homestead to a family home, boarding house, and eventually the car wash many along Nebraska Avenue recognize today.

Now, the property is preparing for its next chapter.

As we get ready to break ground on The Vicente, we’re remembering the people, places, and history that have been part of this land along the way.

Because thoughtful development isn’t only about where a community is going. It’s also about understanding where it’s been.

Hail to the King! 👑

Congratulations to our own Miguel Gonzalez, who was crowned King of the Krewe of West Tampa at its 8th Annual Coronation Ball this weekend!

For Miguel, community isn’t something that starts and stops with a development project. It’s about showing up, building relationships, honoring the neighborhoods that make Tampa what it is, and finding ways to serve beyond the work we do at Urban ReWorx.

The Krewe of West Tampa carries forward the history, culture and traditions of West Tampa while supporting its community and we’re proud to see Miguel step into this role as King and ambassador.
