I asked ChatGPT what people around the country think Floridians do when hurricane season hits and honestly the responses sent me. California thinks we evacuate immediately. New York is panicking about our water supply. Ohio would simply pass away. Colorado wants us to stay grounded. And Texas... well, Texas is Texas.

Meanwhile we are out here checking the Waffle House status and calling it a day.

But in all seriousness, since we ARE the ones who actually live here, here is the real Florida hurricane prep list:
Gas up your car before a storm is ever named. Not when the cone appears. Before.

Stock water and non-perishables now while the shelves are calm and the vibe is fine.

Pull out your insurance policy and actually read it. Flood coverage is separate from homeowners and it matters a lot in this area.

Know your evacuation zone for Hillsborough, Pinellas, or Pasco. They are not the same for every neighborhood.
Download your county's emergency alert app if you have not already.

Refill any prescriptions before a storm has a name. Future you will be very grateful.

Find your flashlights. Charge your backup battery. Check the batteries in things that have batteries.
We have been through this enough times to know that prepared Floridians are the most unbothered people on the planet. Let's stay that way. 😄

EXCLUSIVE TOUR: Buy this famous person's house! 🏡✨

You know her from... *checks notes*... sending 47 text messages about cabinet hinges and showing up with zero chill and maximum coffee ☕️

That's right, folks. Plot twist: I'm selling MY house.

The same home where I've been living my best caffeinated Realtor life, answering client calls at 8pm, and checking every single detail before I bought it myself.

What I'm thinking: "This is a beautiful 4+ bedroom home with updated kitchen, stunning backyard, and—"

What I'm saying: "Y'all, I loved this house but it's time to move on and I need YOU to love it as much as I did."

Features include:
• The kitchen where I've had approximately 1,000 cups of coffee (ok probs more 😆)
• Closets I've personally inspected (obviously)
• A backyard that's seen me take approximately zero days off
