I’m backkk.

We’re home from our first family European vacation. While I was away, my mom and team were right here taking care of our clients and keeping everything moving.

Real estate is so localized. The architecture, the amenities, the price points shifts dramatically from market to market, let alone country to country. We had fun scoping things out in London, Germany, and Paris.

At the end of the day though, there is no place like home.

Where would you move if you could live anywhere in the world?

Every agent will tell you about square footage and school districts. But as a mom? I look deeper.

Are the sidewalks smooth enough for a stroller or bike? Is Publix close? Is it a good Publix?

Can the kids walk or bike to school? Is there a park worth actually going to? Are neighbors the kind who wave from the front yard?

As a mom, I understand that you’re not just buying a house, but a home that needs to match your family lifestyle.

Most Tampa parents rotate through the same three activities all summer long, but y'all there is SO much to do here in Tampa Bay!

And while the theme parks and the zoo are always a great time, Tampa has so many wonderful options that'll keep the kids entertained and off their screens. I even made sure to include some with AC, because it's Florida.. and it's HOT.

An agent once said that she was a better Realtor than me, because she didn't have kids.

Well.. I think being a mom has made me a BETTER Realtor.

She might have more "free time", but being a mom has made me a fiercer negotiator, a more efficient worker, a more knowledgeable resource, and a more empathetic human.

I don't just understand what's at stake when you're buying a home for your family, I've lived it.

Other kids collected Pokémon cards..I collected open house flyers.

Before I ever had a real estate license, I had 10 years in marketing experience, creating press pitches, negotiating contract, and hosting events. Even as a kid, I enjoyed shows like "While You Were Out" and window shopping at real estate offices.

Turns out everything I was doing before this was just training for the job I was always supposed to have.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the mamas! Especially the woman who taught me how to make a house a home, by filling it with love, welcoming others with open arms and always making it feel safe.

She is my biggest supporter personally and professionally. When she isn’t out showing homes, she’s babysitting the kids. I’m so lucky to call her my mom, and even luckier that my kids get to call her grandma!
