A new luxury tower could soon join Tampa’s rapidly evolving skyline as Naples-based Stock Development moves forward with plans for a hotel-condominium project at 601 N. Ashley Drive.

The proposed development would feature luxury branded residences alongside hotel accommodations, adding another high-profile project to Downtown Tampa’s growing collection of upscale residential and hospitality offerings.

Project highlights:
🏙️ Planned mixed-use luxury tower in Downtown Tampa
🏨 Hotel component paired with branded residences
📏 Proposed height increase from 540 feet to 649 feet
🌇 Potentially 40–50 stories with panoramic city and waterfront views
🏗️ Demolition of the existing office building is already underway

Developers say the site offers some of the most protected views in Downtown Tampa, overlooking Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park and the western skyline.

The project remains in the design phase, with pre-sales expected to begin in early 2027. Pricing has not yet been announced, though developers expect the residences to be comparable to other luxury condo projects currently under development downtown.

As Tampa continues attracting new residents, businesses, and investment, projects like this are helping reshape the city’s urban core.

Florida budget negotiators agreed to set aside $50 million for the proposed Tampa Bay Rays stadium project, though state leaders say the funding will only proceed if the broader stadium deal is officially finalized.
The proposed funding would go toward upgrades and redevelopment at Hillsborough College’s Dale Mabry campus — the site being considered for the Rays’ proposed $2.3 billion stadium and surrounding mixed-use development.

The update follows several major local approvals last week, including:
⚾ Tampa City Council approving a nonbinding MOU in a narrow 4-3 vote
🏛️ Hillsborough County commissioners advancing the proposal
🎓 Hillsborough College trustees approving a nonbinding ground lease agreement

Under the current proposal:
💰 Public contribution capped at approximately $976M
🏙️ City of Tampa contribution: approx. $180M
🏛️ County contribution: approx. $796M
⚾ Rays expected contribution: approx. $1.32B plus future overruns

State officials emphasized that the proposed $50 million is intended for Hillsborough College facilities — not directly for the Rays — and stressed that final agreements still need to be completed before state funding is committed.

Supporters say the project could drive economic growth, jobs, redevelopment, and long-term investment in Tampa Bay, while critics continue raising concerns about public funding and taxpayer commitments.

The proposed stadium agreement remains nonbinding, with additional negotiations and final approvals still ahead.

Tampa International Airport is exploring plans for a future “air mobility facility” that could eventually connect travelers to Downtown Tampa and surrounding areas through rail, automated transit systems, and electric air taxis known as EVTOLs (electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft).
Airport leaders say the concept would be tied into SkyConnect and designed to support the region’s rapid growth as passenger traffic continues to rise over the next decade.

The long-term vision includes:
✈️ Electric air taxis flying above traffic
🚆 Potential rail and transit connections
🚌 Integrated bus and people-mover access
🌆 Future connectivity between the airport, downtown Tampa, St. Pete, and surrounding districts

Airport officials also shared updated projections showing Tampa International could grow from approximately 26 million annual passengers today to around 36 million within the next decade.

The concept comes alongside the airport’s planned Airside D expansion, a new 600,000-square-foot international terminal expected to open in 2029.

Supporters say the proposal reflects how Tampa Bay’s transportation and infrastructure systems may continue evolving as the region grows.

The team behind Water Street Tampa has officially outlined plans for a major expansion that would introduce an entirely new entertainment-focused district in Downtown Tampa.

The proposed development would feature:
🎵 A 3,500-capacity live music and entertainment venue
🏨 A new 250-key hotel
🍽️ 80,000 square feet of retail, dining, and hospitality space
🌴 More than 25,000 square feet of public plazas and gathering areas
🚗 Approximately 1,000 integrated parking spaces

Developers say the goal is to create a walkable destination that stays active year-round — not just during concerts and sporting events.

The entertainment venue would include:
• VIP lounges and terrace spaces overlooking Channelside Drive
• Flexible event programming for concerts, tours, and entertainment events
• Connectivity to nearby downtown attractions and event venues

Construction is projected to begin in early 2027 pending city approval, with additional project details and branding expected to be announced later.

Supporters say the expansion could further strengthen Downtown Tampa’s growth as a destination for entertainment, tourism, dining, and urban living.

The City Council voted 4-3 to approve a nonbinding memorandum of understanding tied to the proposed stadium and mixed-use development project near Hillsborough College’s Dale Mabry campus.

The proposed $2.3 billion project includes a new Rays ballpark along with surrounding redevelopment that could bring housing, jobs, entertainment, and infrastructure improvements to the area.

Under the current proposal:
⚾ Public contribution estimated at $976M
🏛️ Hillsborough County contribution: approx. $796M
🏙️ City of Tampa contribution: approx. $180M
💰 Rays expected to cover the remaining project costs and future overruns

Supporters say the project could create jobs, economic growth, and secure Major League Baseball in Tampa Bay long term, while critics continue raising concerns over public funding and taxpayer impact.

The agreement is nonbinding, meaning additional negotiations and final approvals are still ahead before the project can officially move forward.
