In December 2019 the City of Tampa approved rezoning for the Avenue Lofts building at Giddens and Florida to allow beer/wine/liquor sales as a Special Use Permit. This stipulates that any sales must be consumed off-premise and part of a “shoppers goods, convenience, gasoline, convenience or specialty retail” business. This was previously attached to Duckweed Grocery, who has since decided to not lease in the building.
This decision is being appealed by a resident at the 6/23/20 City Council meeting. It will be held at 1030am at the Convention Center downtown. Make your voice heard, in favor or against, at this meeting in person or by emailing [email protected].
