Is “13” your lucky number like or are you superstitious? In real estate, Friday the 13th can jinx a deal. Superstitious sellers have refused to close on that day. Buyers have agreed to pay extra to close on Monday instead of Friday the 13th.

Clients were coming from Colorado to look at homes and didn’t pay attention to the date when they book their flight.

Linkowski said. “And when they were getting to the airport, they called me and said they were canceling the flight, they were not going, they would come back on Saturday, because it was Friday the 13th and the wife was hyperventilating that she was going to get on a flight on Friday the 13th. They went home, and I had to cancel everything and do it again for the next day.”

Some agents hang horseshoes on a house to ward off negative energy or bury a statue of St Joseph upside down, which is thought to sell a house faster. Other agents do not hang a “Pending” or “Sold” banner on their For Sale Sign. They don’t want to jinx the transaction.

Buying and selling a home is a big change in a person’s life. Then throw in and it can be a nail in the coffin.

The costs of buying a home doesn’t stop the moment you move in. You’ll need to maintain your home throughout the years to keep it in tip top shape for when you need to sell. A well-maintained home sells faster and for more money.
Start a Home Maintenance Fund by setting aside 1% to 4% of your home price every year. Then you’ll be ready when you need to replace the Appliances, update the AC or get a new Roof.

According to a survey by Realtor.com 72% of prospective buyers with pets revealed they would forgo their dream home if it did not accommodate their pet.

With this in mind, homeowners should consider projects that are pet friendly to appeal to buyers as nearly 70% of Americans care for a pet.

Projects include:
1. Fenced yard
2. Luxury Vinyl Floors or Tile throughout the home
3. Dog Door
4. Dog washing station
5. Catio
6. Hidden or built-in crate & feeding station

Landlords also take note. Renters want pet friendly flooring in their rentals and amenities such as a dog park or fenced dog run.

There are many creative designs that incorporate pets and all their stuff into the home decor. Designs you and your furry friends will love.
