Update: A Tough Few Days
The past 4 days have been a whirlwind. I ended up in the hospital due to a herniated disc. It’s been an intense experience—from crawling to the bathroom, being pulled in on towels and blankets, and eventually resorting to puppy pads after the VA sent me home with ibuprofen and told me to keep using muscle relaxers. Two days later, I went to Advent Health for a separate opinion where I was finally advised that surgery was needed.
The family was activated—my mom flew in, my sisters have been incredible (huge shoutout for the beautiful edible arrangement!), and my husband… my rock. I can’t express enough appreciation for my husband’s support—it was heartbreaking for him to see me in so much pain and feel helpless. It was equally hard for my children to see me in so much pain, but their love, patience, and resilience through it all have been incredible. I’m so grateful for their support during such a difficult time.
