Notably a great place to get all of your authentic Cubano family recipes including empanadas, Cuban sandwiches, breakfast and coffees.. and specifically probably the best flan in town!

First generation Tampano Joseph Palau opened this eatery two years ago to commemorate his culture & family's recipes! Many of these were derived from his Abuela's home cooking. It was her signature take on flan that sparked Palau's interest in the dessert and eventually as a centerpiece of this fine Cubano eatery!

Stop in for breakfast, lunch or dinner Wednesday thru Sunday. A quick coffee and a flan on the run is hard to beat! And say hi to Joseph's mom Esther!

🌈🐱😲Fun Events In Seminole Heights Tampa This Weekend! 🌈🐱😲

Events in Tampa start to slow down a bit in anticipation of the upcoming Memorial Day holiday. Still there's lots to do in and around the Heights this weekend! Go out and enjoy what is probably the last of our Spring weather. Enjoy!!!

Basically the fear of Friday the 13th or the number 13. The thought is The seating arrangement at the Last Supper is believed to have given rise to a longstanding Christian superstition that having 13 guests at a table was a bad omen—specifically, that it was courting death per the History Channel. Friday was of course the day of Jesus' crucifixion. But lately Friday 13th has been seen as a lucky day to get a tattoo, purchase lotto tickets and invest in the market! Either way you see it I hope it's a good one for you!

This makes all the sense in the world... and I just heard about it!? If there's a big storm coming, or if you are goin on vacation, take a freezer safe cup, fill it with water and freeze it. Before you leave, place a quarter on the top of the frozen water. When you get back, if the quarter is somewhere in the middle or bottom of the cup, your freezer lost power at some point. Basically the food has been corrupted and needs to be discarded. I suppose it would be better to know, than not, right!?

🌹💖Well Valentines Day is this Monday, and if you are thinking about getting flowers for your significant other, there are a few great local choices. Be aware that the supply chain issues are impacting both the supply and cost of flowers nation-wide. Many of the florists I spoke to stated that they will sell until their inventory runs out, but that supply is finite. So you would be well advised to order as soon as possible.💖🌹

🌹 Stunning Flowers by Shelbie is located at 6424 N Florida Ave on the corner of Florida & North. Shelbie will be open throughout the weekend and will have premade arrangements sold streetside as well as special ordering opportunities inside. They are usually open from 7am to around 6pm, but may extend their hours for the weekend.

🌹 Moates Flowers is located at 5034 N Nebraska and are open from 9am-5pm weekdays & until noon on Saturday.

🌹 The Nature Shop is a new addition to the neighborhood! After being located downtown for over 40 years they recently moved up to 2706 N Florida Ave, on the corner of Columbus Dr. They are open from 9:30am-5:30pm weekdays & until noon on Saturday. Drop by and introduce yourself to Leeland!
