Drive 20 minutes out of the canyon we are in at Taos Ski Valley into the town of Taos. Taos is famous for its art galleries, pottery and craft stores, restaurants, and shopping. Lots to do when you need a break from the high adventure!

Some may not want to do adventurous things when they stay at our Taos Ski Valley condo. Drive 10 minutes down the road to the town of Arroyo Seco and get your fill of shops, pottery and craft businesses, dining at ACEQ, and don’t miss ice cream at Taos Cow!
(Also, keep a look out for Julia Roberts, who owns a ranch in Arroyo Seco)

One activity about 30 minutes from our condo in Taos Ski Valley is to hike around the Rio Grande Del Norte National Monument. Totally different biome than being up in the gorgeous mountain canyon. This is a deep chasm that the Rio Grande flows through in the desert, and is exceptional to admire. Pretty cool wildlife as well!
