Hello,
I am Kelly Woods, and my husband is Dana. Dana is originally from Beckville, Texas, and has family all over the area. I’ve lived in Tatum since 1985, which is two thirds of my life, so yes, we bleed green over here, with a tiny blue stripe. 😂 We’ve been married more than 20 years, and raised our three daughters in Tatum. They all went to Tatum schools from K-12! Two are amazing RN’s, and one, is very successful at working with developers to make websites function properly, at a large company in the DFW area. Tatum schools prepared all of our daughters for college, and provided a scholarship for each of them through the Tatum Education Foundation. Every child who graduates from Tatum, receives a scholarship to continue their education, either by going to college, or trade school! All three of our daughters have college degrees. Tatum’s dedication to our children shows, from the Administration, Teachers, Coaches, to the Support Staff. We have amazing schools and our people care about, and are dedicated to the education of each and every child, on our campuses.
We strive to be the very best property owners in East Texas. Upon purchase of properties, we go the extra mile, and renovate our homes between 95-100%. If something goes wrong, you call us and we are there to fix it, usually the day you call.
As previously stated, we have great schools, and are a small, quiet town, but TATUM IS GROWING!!! We are so proud of our new Tractor Supply, and all of our small and local businesses, and more are opening every day! Getting into Tatum is VERY HARD, and we are blessed to be able to provide homes for people. We believe in treating people, the way we are called to do by our Father, and this has served us well, as we always have a list of people waiting. We don’t feel like we have houses, we have homes, and though they are our property, they’re YOUR HOME, and we respect them, as such.
Tatum doesn’t have the volume of crime, and we rarely have violent crime like Longview and Marshall do. Tatum is in the center of everything, it’s roughly 20 miles, to five larger cities. Henderson, Carthage, Marshall, Longview, and Kilgore make a circle around Tatum. We are approximately 45 minutes to an hour, from Shreveport / Bossier and Tyler, and two hours from the edge of DFW.
We are close to Martin Lake State Park, and within an easy drive to Caddo Lake, Lake O’ the Pines, Lake Tyler, Tyler State Park, Lake Murval, and a few others. Hiking, fishing, hunting, boating, and water activities surround us.
There’s a lot to do in Tatum, and the surrounding areas of East Texas! Tatum has the Pecan Pie Festival in April, and the Jingle Bell Bop and Shop, around the first week of December. Just down the highway to Longview, we have the Great Texas Ballon Race, held in mid-June. This is the place the balloon glow was invented, which now is performed world wide. There are many festivals and fairs in the East Texas area, including the East Texas State Fair in Tyler, the Fire Ant festival in Marshall, the Yamboree in Gilmer, the Red Dirt BBQ Festival in Tyler, (LOTS OF GREAT MUSIC), and the Red River Revel in Shreveport, to name a few!
So, if you’re looking to move to the area, or looking for a beautiful HOME, please contact me at 903-646-3916, leave me a text or a voicemail. I’ll be posting to this page when we have an opening.
