🌴 5 Famous Florida Keys Places That Take Me Back 🌊☀️

I moved to the in 1986, and every once in a while somebody mentions a place and you think, Wow, I had so much fun there!!
So let's take a quick ride down the Keys and see how many of these spots bring back some memories for you. 👇
🌴🍹 HOLIDAY ISLE & THE TIKI BAR —
Holiday Isle in the '80s and '90s was legendary. The Tiki Bar was home of the original , but that was only part of the fun.
There were boats, music, packed weekends, the legendary Bartenders Bash, bartending competitions and those famous bikini contests. 🍹👙
And who remembers Bimini Row? Those colorful little shops out on the point were epic. You could find Keys souvenirs, clothing and some of the tiniest bikinis around.
🦑🍽️ SQUID ROW —
Squid Row was just good old Islamorada. Fresh seafood, locals, visitors—and there was always someone you knew in the restaurant.
Here's a cool little piece of history: Squid Row's Continental Style preparation from 1992 is still served at the .
Today, Islamorada Shrimp Shack sits at the same location where Squid Row once did.
🍺🎣 PAPA JOE'S —
Papa Joe's was a LEGENDARY Islamorada gathering place.
From 1968 until 2006, fishermen, locals and visitors stopped in for lunch, came back after a day on the water for drinks and swapped plenty of stories. 🎣🍺
It wasn't a place designed to feel like the Keys.
It was the Keys.
⚓🌴 FARO BLANCO —
You couldn't miss that lighthouse.
During the '80s, Faro Blanco's marina, restaurant and bar were a popular Marathon gathering spot for locals, boaters and visitors.
Some famous faces became part of its history too, including and .
The lighthouse is still there, but those who knew Faro Blanco back in the '80s remember a different time in Marathon.
🌙🍹 FULL MOON SALOON —
was one of the familiar faces who spent time at the Full Moon Saloon, which tells you something about the kind of Key West place it was. 🎶🌴
Writers, musicians, bartenders, locals and all kinds of Key West characters mixed together there late into the night, playing music and making memories.
The Full Moon closed in 1993 after 16 years.
It wasn't trying to create a Key West atmosphere.
Those people WERE the Key West atmosphere.
