This one is hard.

Because what happens when the life you want to change isn’t necessarily a bad life?

What happens when it’s a life you worked your ass off to build?

The career you spent years building.

The business you once dreamed about.

The version of success you thought would make you happy.

The routines, relationships, goals or plans that once made perfect sense.

You’re allowed to look at something you worked really fu***ng hard for and say:

I don’t think I want this anymore.

That doesn’t make all the work you put into it a waste.

It doesn’t mean you failed.

And it doesn’t mean you were wrong for wanting it in the first place.

Maybe it was exactly what you needed for that version of you.

And maybe you’ve changed.

I think sometimes we stay because walking away feels like admitting all that effort was for nothing.

But it wasn’t for nothing.

It got you here.

It taught you things.

It built parts of you you’re going to take into whatever comes next.

You don’t owe your past self the rest of your life just because she worked really hard to get you here.

You’re allowed to outgrow a life you worked really fu***ng hard to build.

And you’re still allowed to want something different now.

Even if you don’t know exactly what that different thing looks like yet.

Build it scared. 🤍

I used to think changing my mind meant I had failed.

Like once I said I wanted something, I had to keep wanting it forever or somehow admit I got it wrong.

Turns out…that’s bu****it. 😂

Sometimes changing your mind just means you finally know enough to make a different decision.

The life you wanted five years ago was built by a version of you who knew what she knew then.

But you know more now.
You’ve lived more.
You’ve survived some s**t.
You trust yourself differently.
And maybe you just don’t want the same things anymore.

You’re allowed to be grateful for the dream that got you here and still admit it doesn’t fit the woman you are now.

That’s not failure.

That’s growth.

Annoying? Absolutely.
Wildly inconvenient when you already had the whole damn plan figured out? Of course. 😂

But still growth.

You’re allowed to change your mind.
You’re allowed to want something different.
And you’re allowed to build a life your past self never even knew was an option.

Some nights we’re thriving.

And some nights it’s Uncrustables for dinner, pajamas a little earlier than usual, and calling it a win. 😂

Honestly? Both count.

Motherhood has taught me that a successful day doesn’t always look the same. Sometimes we’re making homemade dinners and magical childhood memories.

And sometimes we’re just doing what we have the capacity for that day.

I think we deserve to celebrate those days, too.

So moms… what counted as a win at your house this week? I want to hear it so we can laugh and compare notes.
