One of Tennessee’s best roadside stops is the Tellico Beach Drive-In, sitting right along the Cherohala Skyway in Tellico Plains. This old-school drive-in is set beside the Tellico River, with rushing water just steps from your table. The menu sticks to the basics and does them right—burgers, chili dogs, onion rings, fries, and thick shakes, all cooked fresh and priced right. Covered picnic tables line the riverbank, making it an easy lunch stop after seeing Bald River Falls or cruising the Skyway. Everything is made when you order, portions are big, and the folks are friendly. Just note it’s cash or check only—no cards—but the food and river views make it well worth the stop.
