The ultimate goal when selling is to ensure buyers can picture themselves in your home. This means giving them the space to envision living there, a space free from too many of your things —including pets and all they bring with them. It's never too early or too late to take a step toward the life you've always dreamed of.

So many dreams go unrealized because of this one small thing when all we have to do is take a step... any step. It almost doesn’t matter what, as long as it's different from what we've been doing. If you're unhappy with your agent — regardless of whether you are buying or selling — you CAN "break up" with them. Yes, you read that correctly. Buying or selling a home is most likely the largest financial decision you will make in your lifetime, so it is crucial that you trust the agent advocating for your best interests.

You don’t have to settle for someone you don’t like, work well with, or who doesn't meet your expectations. You deserve a dedicated agent who consistently goes the extra mile to deliver exceptional results.

If you're considering a change, here's how to do it respectfully and professionally:

• Have a conversation. Try communicating with them openly about the issues you have, and express your concerns respectfully and honestly.

• Review the contract. If you have signed a buyer's agency contract, review it to understand any contractual obligations or terms related to terminating the agreement with your agent.

Remember, one way to avoid this situation is to interview your agent (or multiple) so that you can determine who understands you best and who will ultimately be the best fit for YOU.
