Big news for VA buyers!
The VA Loan Reform Act of 2025 has officially changed the game. Signed into law earlier this year and in effect since August 10, 2024, this reform allows eligible veterans, active-duty service members, and surviving spouses to pay buyer-agent commissions out of pocket when using a VA loan.
👉 Why does this matter?
Last year’s commission rule change meant sellers were no longer required to cover buyer-agent commissions. That left many VA buyers at a disadvantage, since VA rules didn’t allow them to pay those costs themselves.
Now, with this reform:
✅ VA buyers are back in the game.
✅ You can stay competitive with conventional and FHA buyers.
✅ Your agent can fully represent your best interests without relying on seller concessions.
This change levels the playing field and ensures our veterans and service members aren’t left behind in today’s housing market.
