Dear Friends, August, 2019
This is the hardest letter I’ve ever had to publish. In the July newsletter, I wrote this had been the best and worst of times for us personally and asked for prayers. This is the explanation.
Most of our readers and clients who have been with us for more than a few years, knew Pat Gorman’s voice from phone conversations or radio programs. Pat started this company in June of 1996. He had the longest running radio program on Financial News Network, nearly 25 years, of “Hard money Watch”. Pat also wrote all our newsletters and he and I hosted the Wealth Protection Conferences for 16 years in Tempe Arizona.
July 24th 2019 on the eve of his 66th birthday I lost my husband of nearly 40 years, Patrick Gorman. Our daughters Janell and Sarah, lost their daddy. Our world lost a man with the natural resources we need most these days, humor, self-reliance, and bravery. Pat had the gift to make you laugh at the world and at yourself. He owned his failures along with his successes. He was always ready to take life changing steps for his goals and for his family as well as be a mentor to others.
My prayer is that although he has passed, his spirit stays among us and inspires us to be better to each-other and ourselves.
Pat was my hero, my love and my best friend and so much more as well as my business partner. After his first major stroke in 2010 which left him with severe communications disorders called aphasia and apraxia, our family and I continued on with Resource Consultants, Incorporated. He was very proud of us. We are still very proud of him and are not stopping now, but will push on to honor and grow in the work, wisdom, mentoring and friendship that he brought to so many.
Pat suffered a massive stroke July 16th. I took him to Ardmore Mercy Hospital then he was airlifted to Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City. The doctors told me because he had irregular heart beat and was taking Eliquis to prevent a clot from reoccurring, they could not reverse the effects. Eliquis was supposed to have been one of the best solutions for Pat’s health because he has an irregular heartbeat, but in this case, it worked against him.
Many of you know our daughter Sarah from working with us. What you probably did not know was that she has wanted to be a mommy for her whole life. After many heartbreaks, that dream finally came true! She was scheduled for delivery on July 20 but Pat said no, she will be born on the 10th. Beautiful little Maisie Pearl was born on the 10th of July as Grandpa had predicted and her Grandpa Pat was able to hold her and share in the pure joy of becoming grandparents. This is a memory we will forever treasure.
It’s over
You’re gone
I miss you
I should be desolate.
And yet, I feel strangely at peace.
The ties that connect us will not sever easily,
Maybe never..
Love is more than physical presence.
More than knowing we will meet again.
And yet, I know we will meet again, someday.
Because, although it’s over,
It isn’t.

“I've been looking for words to speak of your loss and perhaps comfort you, and words are totally inadequate. Pat was a giant, Everyone who knew him came to recognize that rather quickly. My very best wishes to him in heaven and to you. I admire the way you keep your chin up, Linda.” ~from Frank S. who ran the sound board at KFNN.
“Hi, Linda, I'm deeply saddened by the news of Pat's passing. However, I'm also comforted by having known him and how he helped me in a dark time of my life. It was back in the '08-09 time when I lost my job as a construction superintendent after many years and the whole construction industry was down. After trying different types of jobs with little success, Pat encouraged me and supported me in believing in myself to strike out on my own with my own construction license, going door to door with flyers if needed. That's all it took! Business is still good, and I'll always be grateful for Pat's help. ~ Warmest Regards, your friend, Paul”
