If you know of anyone who needs housing assistance, Chandler is opening up its waitlist, which is a really big deal. Have them apply. We need to take care of our neighbors.

Chandler's Housing and Redevelopment Division is opening its public housing waitlist for three-, four- and five-bedroom family sizes.

Interested applicants can pre-apply online at chandleraz.gov/AffordableHousing starting at noon Friday, April 3 through noon Friday, April 17. Paper pre-applications may be requested via email at [email protected] or by phone at 480-782-3200.

This waitlist is only for existing public housing sites and not the Villas on McQueen property. The waitlist for Villas on McQueen will open in late April.

My family and I are once again taking part in the Phoenix Children's Hospital Ignite Hope Walk next weekend. For the eight years our daughter Brooklyn was with us, we were never able to participate—she was often too ill or admitted at PCH, and it just wasn’t possible to bring her to the event.
We chose to join the walk the year Brooklyn passed away, as a way to honor her and to support the kids and parents who find themselves in the hospital during the Christmas season. Being there in person is truly life-changing—you can feel the love and hope all around you.
This year, we’ll be walking with Taylor’s Aspire club volleyball team, and we’re also taking part in the fundraiser. Our goal is $500, and we’re already at $400. If you’re able, we would be so grateful for your help in reaching—and hopefully surpassing—our goal again this year.
