Would you enjoy using your bookkeeping expertise to remotely help a small business thrive, all from the comfort of your own home office? If you are interested in working between 20-30 hours a week for a growing organization who leverages cutting edge technology to pioneer the work-from-home revolution, then we may have the perfect opportunity for you!

This is a 1099 Independent Contractor role working remotely from your home office. Your hours are flexible; however, you must have availability during normal business hours as this role does work in conjunction with an office team.

In addition to the following job duties, qualified candidates must be responsive, customer-focused, great communicators, team players and able to multi-task. All the duties performed are done remotely, so candidates must be comfortable on the phone and with using web conferencing applications such as Microsoft Teams. Candidates must also be able to clearly communicate via email, text, etc. in a timely, professional fashion.

Responsibilities:
• Bank Statement Reconciliation
• Cash Flow Management
• Journal and Data Entry (Coding)
• Run Monthly Reports including Balance Sheet (Statement of Financial Position) and P&L (Income Statement)
• Maintain and Manage Chart of Accounts
• Process payroll: including set-up, scheduling, and frequency
• Manage eCommerce account and payments: Stripe

In addition to basic bookkeeping tasks, perform the following:

• Build and leverage strong relationships with our customers and their administrative personnel
• Accurately create and ensure successful and timely delivery of customer invoices
• Identify and resolve discrepancies in billing issues
• Provide quick and responsive ongoing administrative support to customers, employees, and vendors
• Manage customer contract terms and renewal dates
• Analyze contract terms and answer related questions from both internal staff and external customers
• Keep track of customer invoices and assist in managing the timely receipt of payments
• Contribute to accounting information system development and scaling financial operations
• Participate in on-boarding new employees with Paychex account
• Acquire industry knowledge related to general trends, accounting procedures, and GAAP rulings
• Contribute to APR's culture, values, and vision for the future

Requirements:

• Must have the utmost integrity and understanding of confidentiality
• BA/BS degree in accounting, finance, or a relevant field preferred
• Payroll Experience preferred
• In-depth understanding of QuickBooks (desktop and online) QB ProAdvisor preferred
• 2+ years' experience in an accounting or financial role
• Proven experience with invoicing and customer interactions
• Proven experience with MS Office including Excel
• Experience working with medium-sized to enterprise-level customers
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent organizational and project management skills, with ability to prioritize
• Strongly analytical with creative problem solving and negotiating skills
• Ability to work closely with all employees of the company
• Must be independent, self-motivated, and success-driven, yet willing to work within a team environment
• Must have a pleasant, professional demeanor in person and on the phone
• The desire to learn and be coached
• Must live in the Temple/Belton area
