Congratulations and thank you Vikings!

The Vigo County School Corporation was a big part of our fundraising efforts at the Celebrity Bagging event. Thank you to all the volunteers!

WINNER’S LUNCH! 🍕 The cheerleaders at West Vigo High School- Home of the Vikings celebrated their Miracle on 7th Street fundraising win with a pizza party, compliments of Director of Secondary Education Dr. Jennifer Korkes.

Dr. Korkes challenged students from TH North, TH South and West Vigo to compete in the Miracle Celebrity Bagging fundraiser at Baesler's Market. Our students accepted the challenge… with West beating out South by just $2!

Thanks to our students and staff, Miracle raised $3,500 in just one day. We’re told funds are still being counted but the Miracle committee estimates upwards of $20,000 was raised overall!

Thank you to everyone from VCSC who volunteered to make Miracle a success. Many of the dollars raised will go directly to VCSC students through the Backpack Program.

Wow! With a down-to-the-minute, very generous donation, the THS STAND Club claimed the lead to the People’s Choice voting, making them our overall winner for the gingerbread house contest!

Our top three largest earners for People’s Choice were:
1st place: THS STAND Club, 538 votes
2nd place: Mrs. Pohlar’s Kindergarten class, 357 votes
3rd place: Pride Palace, 214 votes

The Miracle committee would like to thank all of our participants for their outstanding work in these amazing constructions. We would also like to thank all the Miracle event attendees for their votes for the People’s Choice award. The money raised from voting goes directly back to our community, helping feed those in need.

We hope you’ll participate again next year!
